Who is the No. 1 veterinary school in the U.S. and the No. 1 in the field of veterinary science? That would be University of California, Davis, which once again earns top honors from the recently released QS World University Rankings results. This marks the second year in a row that UC Davis has earned the No. 1 ranking since Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World added the veterinary science category in 2015. It’s not the first time UC Davis has earned top honors, however: They were also named the top veterinary school in the United States by U.S. News and World Report back in 2015. “The energy, passion, knowledge and skills that the UC Davis veterinary medicine community brings to their jobs every day is the secret to our success,” said Dean Michael Lairmore, in a press release. “Our future, supported in part by generous philanthropic partners, will be shaped by our combined efforts as we push the boundaries of research discoveries, provide innovative educational opportunities for our students, bring advanced clinical services to our animal patients, and serve our communities by advancing the health of animals, people and the environment.” The school was also given the No. 2 ran for agriculture and forestry by Q.S. World, as well as named the greenest university in the world by GreenMetric ranking from the University of Indonesia.
