New scholarship program supports future shelter veterinarians

Each year, five veterinary students will receive $5,000 grants, amounting to ten students receiving scholarships over the two-year program.

Veterinary students pursuing careers in shelter medicine may be eligible to receive funding.

Embrace Pet Insurance has announced a new partnership with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) to launch a scholarship program which will provide $5,000 scholarships to five third- or fourth-year veterinary students in the U.S. intending to work in shelter medicine upon graduation.

"Through scholarships for veterinary students passionate about shelter medicine, we seek to empower a new generation of veterinarians committed to animal welfare," says Brian Macias, CEO of Embrace Pet Insurance.

The application has started and will run until Sept. 30, 2024.
