Nationwide strengthens VitusVet partnership

The technology offered by the mobile solution’s provider helps clinics streamline appointment processes

Nationwide has reinforced its relationship with mobile solutions provider VitusVet by way of a strategic investment.

The VitusVet app offers a three-step process to file pet insurance claims. Owners are asked to confirm pet information, add claim information and receipts, and review the claim prior to submission.

As part of the initial partnership between the two companies, Nationwide pet insurance customers were given exclusive access to the app's claims submission function.

"When Nationwide began its partnership with VitusVet, we saw the potential of how [the] groundbreaking technology could streamline the process of a customer submitting a pet insurance claim," says Peter McMurtrie, Nationwide's senior vice president of emerging businesses. "[Nationwide] and [its] members have seen that potential realized during the past three years. This investment will help VitusVet continue [its] work of finding new and exciting ways to improve the connection between pet owners and pet health care providers."

The technology also helps clinics streamline appointment processes, monitor practice performance, and simplify client reminders.

Under the strengthened partnership, the insurance giant will also serve on VitusVet's board of directors.

"The health of pets is a priority for VitusVet, so we are very happy to be deepening our partnership with Nationwide," adds Mark Olcott, DVM, cofounder and CEO of VitusVet. "With this investment, we will continue to create easy-to-use technology that improves the connection between veterinary practices and pet owners."

The investment amount has not been disclosed.
