Photos courtesy The Brady Hunter Foundation On Sept. 21, 2024, a Michigan community came together to support Henry’s Lemonade Stand in raising funds for the River Rouge Animal Shelter. At the heart of the event was Henry Bryant, an eight-year-old animal advocate , who has reportedly raised more than $29,000 through his community-driven initiative. His recent fundraising event, in partnership with the Detroit Salsa Company, also received a $5,000 donation from The Brady Hunter Foundation. This contribution is the highest the young philanthropist has received. Photo courtesy The Brady Hunter Foundation “[Shelter] dogs don’t really have a home, and it’s kind of sad for them,” Bryant says in an interview with WXYZ 7 News Detroit, adding these animals also suffer from medical issues. “Lots of people come … the community comes. Most people love animals because how could you not?” he adds. “It [the event] makes me have joy …” Photo courtesy The Brady Hunter Foundation “When we learned about Henry’s unwavering dedication to animal welfare, we knew we had to get involved and empower him,” says Josh Fox, founder of The Brady Hunter Foundation. “Supporting young advocates like Henry is at the core of our mission, and we’re proud to contribute to his incredible efforts.” Henry’s mom, Shelley Grant, has expressed gratitude, saying: “Henry’s love for animals has been a huge part of our lives, and seeing his work recognized means the world to us. We are so thankful for the support from The Brady Hunter Foundation and Detroit Salsa Company. This event will have a real impact on the shelter and Henry’s ongoing mission.” Held at 3464 Fort St. in Lincoln Park, Michigan, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on Sept. 21, 2024, the fundraiser drew attendees who were eager to support Henry’s cause and share in the day’s festivities.
