The Compassion-First Pet Hospital family got a little bigger with the addition of Animal Emergency and Specialty Center (AESC), the third Colorado veterinary clinic to join Compassion-First and the 27th overall. On the corporate website, Compassion-First encourages its member animal hospitals to “retain their unique identities and autonomies regarding medical decisions, while benefitting from the opportunity to share knowledge and maximize their resources as part of a dynamic network.” AESC was founded in Parker, Colo., in 2001 and employs more than 75 professionals who serve pet owners by administering veterinary care to the pets in the communities of Parker and Englewood, as well as to small-town and rural residents in Douglas, Elbert and parts of Arapahoe counties. “Compassion-First Pet Hospitals is a true partner, they will help grow our hospital by providing resources and access to new cutting-edge technologies, giving us an even greater ability to provide the very best in veterinary medicine,” said Dr. Adam Rosenberg, DVM, co-owner of AESC. AESC will benefit with plenty of shared services, including information technology, continuing education, financial reporting, legal, insurance, hospital management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance, internships, referrals and other aspects of running their business. In addition, the Tinton Falls, N.J.-based animal hospital chain boasts that it invests in “novel technology rarely found in veterinary medicine,” pointing out its commitment to lithotripsy for the treatment of kidney and bladder stones as an example. “We are stewarding a new way of practicing veterinary medicine. We see a future where medical collaboration occurs seamlessly daily, with experts across the United States,” said John Payne, who founded Compassion-First in 2014. “We envision all hospitals having the latest medical equipment and technology available and where the medical decisions remain with the veterinarians and their teams.” Compassion-First veterinary hospitals are currently located in Arizona (1), Colorado (3), Connecticut (1), North Carolina (1), New Jersey (10), New York (1), Ohio (2), Pennsylvania (2), South Carolina (1), Texas (4) and Virginia (3).
