Answers The sub-mucosa. Sutures should not go any deeper than the sub-mucosa because they can lead to stone formation when exposed to urine. A synthetic, absorbable, monofilament suture; a blunt needle. A simple, appositioning, continuous suture is now recommended. An inverting continuous suture (Cushing) is acceptable.
