Baby birds being fed the formula may run the risk of kidney failure when ingesting the product. Baby birds that have consumed formula with high vitamin D levels may become weak and inactive and show a lack of appetite, vomiting, increased thirst and increased urine excretion (watery droppings), the company said. Pet owners should stop feeding the affected food immediately and consult with their veterinarian. Customers who purchased the recalled products can contact Kaytee for to receive a reimbursement. In response to the recall, Kaytee reviewed its quality control process and took the “necessary steps” to ensure the product will be manufactured to exact specifications, the company said. <HOME>
