The 5,000-square-foot center will provide emergency care between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. during the week and around the clock on weekends and holidays. It will be staffed in rotations by small animal emergency and critical care clinicians and support personnel from the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville. “We were approached by a group of Marion County-area veterinarians who recognized that the lack of an after-hours emergency veterinary care in Ocala was a critical need in their community,” said Glen Hoffsis, DVM, dean of UF's college of veterinary medicine. “We came up with a solution that should be a win-win for everyone, most of all the pets that need this type of care.” A public grand opening event will be scheduled soon, according to the college.<HOME>http://www.veterinarypracticenews.com/images/vpn-tab-image/ribbon-cutting-300px.jpg5/23/2012 1:47 PM
